2025 Bulb List

Shipping from September 9th - October 12th 2025, and from November 18th - December 15th.

A Note From Richard and Nancy

Welcome to Fraser's Thimble Farms Fall bulb list! We’re excited to start shipping in early September, and we’ll be sending bulbs out through mid-December with a short break from October 15th to November 18th (see specific shipping dates above). Many of the bulbs you’ll find here are rare and available in limited quantities, so if you’re planning to pick up your bulbs in person, the best time to visit the nursery is late September or early October.

We’ve made an effort to indicate naturally small bulbs (about the size of a pea or smaller) with a ## sign. Fall bloomers will be shipped along with regular bulbs. Our bulbs are premium quality and are shipped to us after the regular bulbs have been dispatched from the growers. They travel by air to ensure they stay fresh, and we store them properly, so we can offer a wide selection of perishable bulbs like Fritillaria and Eremerus. We also grow many rare bulbs ourselves, including most of the erythroniums and trilliums, and we only lift them a day or so before shipping to ensure they’re in the best possible condition.

Please note, we don’t rate bulbs for hardiness, so it’s important that you research whether a bulb is suited to your area. For many of our rare or new offerings, hardiness is still unknown. There are so many factors that affect hardiness, like frost, moisture, humidity, snow cover, and wind. The most important factor is drainage - both during the winter and growing season. If you're unsure about your soil’s drainage, we recommend planting the bulbs in a mound. Be sure to water them in well to settle the soil and prevent cold air from getting too deep into the ground. If you're in an area with reliable snow cover, you can plant a wider variety. For example, in colder zones like Edmonton, Alberta (Zone 3), you can often plant Zone 5-6 bulbs with success.

Most of the bulbs we ship are bloom-sized, unless noted otherwise. However, we don’t guarantee blooms or the productivity of the bulbs, as how they’re cultivated after shipping is out of our control. We do, however, guarantee that the plants will be true to their name and in healthy condition when they ship.

Thank you for exploring our list! Don’t be afraid to try something new, you might be pleasantly surprised. To order, just use the bulb order form above.
