Hardy Cyclamens
 

Tuberous rooted perennials.  Grown for pretty white, pink, or rose flowers that resemble shooting stars (highly reflexed).  Attractive leaves in basal clumps.  Plant in shade to semi-shade in humus-rich soil. These are seed grown by us and offered as young plants with small tubers. Some species will have bloomed  but some are not large enough yet

Cyclamen africanum  Young Plant................10cm pot $7.50ea
Ht.10-15cm.  Z.9.  Dark green leaves with light silvery markings appear in spring/summer.  Flowers are violet scented, pale pink to rose-pink with a red patch at the base and bloom in autumn.  Plant in shade to semi-shade in a protected site.

Ht.  10-15cm.  Z7.  Fragrant, pale pink to purple with a red basal blotch.  Blooms September to November.  Rounded, green leaves with silver mottling appear in September to October.  Undersides carmine-red.  Easy to grow in shade to semi-shade in well drained humus-rich soil.

Ht. 10-15cm. Z6. Deep, crimson rose to pale pink flowers with a white eye at the base with a darker spot above it. Rounded, deep green leaves with dark green or silver markings; undersides red. Blooms January to April.

Ht.10-15cm. Z6. These are seedlings grown from forms that have white flowers and a deep violet nose. Leaves plain green or lightly mottled. Blooms in late winter to early spring.

Ht. 10-15cm.  Z6.  Deep, crimson rose to pale pink flowers with a white eye at the base with a darker spot above it.  All have some silver or grayish marking on the leaves.

Ht.10-15cm.  Z.9.  Olive green leaves are marbled with grey or creamy white above and flushed with crimson purple below.  Sweetly fragrant white to pale pink flowers have a conspicuous magenta blotch towards the base of each lobe in the Fall.

Ht. 10-15cm. Z8-9.  Leaves velvety dark green with a silver grey zone within the margin sometimes fainter appearing checkered.  Flowers pale pink to deep carmine with two maroon blotches at the base.  Blooms autumn to early winter.

Ht. 10cm.  Z6.  Large, green, ivy shaped leaves marbled silver and white.Rose to dark pink flowers with a dark spot at the base.  Blooms August to October. After a few years these tend to naturalize (selfsowing) making a beautiful ground cover for the winter and a great floral display in early fall

Ht.10-15cm.  Z.8.  Lightly marbled green leaves with lighter green undersides sometimes marked with purple.  Flowers are white to pale pink with grey venation.

Cyclamen libanoticum  Young Plant.................10cm pot$9.99ea
Ht.10-15cm.  Z.9.  An attractive species with large pale pink flowers with a darker crimson blotch and handsome grey green leaves with or without markings.  Flowers open almost white but gradually take on the delicate pale rose-pink tint.  Plant in semi-shade in a position protected from excessive winter moisture. Blooms Feb till April.

Ht.10-15cm.  Z.7  Leaves larger than C.coum and heart shaped with grey-green or white markings.  Flowers fragrant, vivid magenta, with a chocolate-magenta `ace of spades'-shaped blotch towards the base of each lobe.  Plant in open but protect from excess winter moisture or plant beneath shrubs or trees. Blooms in Spring.
